Are We Still Human, or Just Watching?

Sometimes I really think hard. I just can’t understand how our way of thinking became like this over many years. In our own place, people are suffering—but many of us don’t speak up or do anything to help.

Why have we become so quiet and cold, like we don’t feel anything anymore? Are we slowly forgetting how to be caring and kind human beings?

The truth is, our government and officers can’t always know everything happening in faraway villages or small corners of Sikkim. They are people too, with lots of work and many duties.

That’s why it’s our job to speak up—in a kind and helpful way—to let them know what’s going on. When we speak, they can see the problem and take action.

Even if we can’t be there in person, we can still support by liking, sharing, or commenting on posts that talk about important issues. If someone is using social media to show what’s happening, we should help spread their message. We can do this with respectful and thoughtful words, without hurting anyone’s feelings.

Change doesn’t always start from the top. Sometimes, it starts with us.

Whether you’re a man or woman, young or old, working or unemployed, a student, a teacher, a social worker, a preacher, or a businessperson, each of us has the ability and responsibility to speak out. And when we do it in a respectful, thoughtful, and constructive way, it truly makes a difference.
